Meet the NLK Strategies team.

Nicola brings well over two decades of experience providing senior strategic counsel to her clients. Prior to starting NLK in 2018, Nicola worked at two Canadian public relations agencies as a Partner and Vice President for a combined 20 years. She has provided advice to a wide range of clients in technology, transportation, energy, mining, forestry, financial services, manufacturing and commercial real estate development. She was also previously the Director of Communications and Community Relations at Best Buy Canada.

Nicola holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography from the University of British Columbia and has also completed the Canadian Securities Course. Active in the community, she is on the Board of Directors of Special Olympics British Columbia. Nicola is passionate about the west coast and enjoys spending time outside whenever possible.


Katya specializes in corporate communications, web content strategy, content creation and marketing. She has an extensive journalism background including editor positions in London, U.K., and Sydney, Australia. She has also co-authored a book about London.

Katya spent 10 years in various editor positions at The Vancouver Sun, western Canada’s largest newsroom, before changing course to a career in communications. She has completed a graduate course in Professional Communications from Royal Roads University and has subsequently worked in communications with a focus on tourism and economic development.

She brings her writing, editing, web and social media skills to any job and finds great passion in running, storytelling and exploring new places.
